Plan for 12 children

An editorial worked example, not a tested capacity or venue quote. Includes the birthday child; count attending adults separately. Adapt to your guests and check product labels.

Run the activity
Three teams of four build one creature, bridge or vehicle per team. Use two 10-minute build rounds with a shared show-and-tell; offer picture prompts for beginners.
Starting brick allocation
Start with 3 trays of about 200 mixed bricks (600 total), 3 prompt cards and a separate small spare tray. This is an editorial starting allocation for shared builds, not 12 individual sets. Test the challenge with your child first.
Buy, borrow or skip
Use your own or borrowed collection first. One 790-piece box can support this small shared-build plan if its piece mix fits your prompts. For 12 large individual builds, borrow more bricks or simplify; avoid promising a set per guest.
Space and adult roles
Seat four children at each build surface. One adult supports building and one manages food, arrivals and lost pieces. Keep bricks off the floor and away from under-4 siblings.
Budget assumptions
Example allowance: $65 snacks/drinks, $25 cake, $20 tableware/decor, $20 optional favors, $20 buffer = $150 with borrowed bricks. Buying bricks adds the current checkout cost; venue and adult food are extra.
