Chicago Jazz Festival, Navy Pier Final Summer Fireworks offer free admission. Food, rides, parking and special exhibitions can cost extra; free does not always mean no reservation.
Start with a daytime Jazz Festival set or Taste of Polonia’s kids’ stage. The 10 p.m. fireworks and registered bike ride need more planning and suit older children.
